<jimb> mrgiggles: pun
<mrgiggles> jimb: I should have been sad when my flashlight batteries died, but I was delighted.
<jimb> 8/10, I snickered
<jorendorff> yeah that's ... better than expected
<Wes> my secret to confess is that I steal jokes from mrgiggles
<Waldo> be proud
<sfink> I do too. for my kids It moves my dad joke success zone from "stony silence" all the way past "eye roll" into the promised land of "reluctant chuckle" -

(a volunteer contributor stumbles across a bottomless pit of pre-existing bugs)
<mgaudet> jorendorff: Right. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I mean, in a sense, this bytecode iterator stuff is proving its worth here. Wasn't originally intended so much as a correctness thing, but here's an opportunity to make sure we nail down invariants tighter, and so this is pretty cool.
<•jorendorff> yep
<mgaudet> Sucks a little for the contributor, but they get introduce to the real world of software :D
<•jorendorff> whoa, is the real world like this? i thought we were cursed ;)
<mgaudet> it can be both -

<jorendorff> tromey: do we allow the content process to run other tabs' content, with the paused debuggee code just sitting on the C stack?
<fitzgen> jorendorff: yes, we do
<fitzgen> jorendorff: to understand why we allow this, imagine a developer pausing, then switching tabs to reference MDN
<jorendorff> fitzgen: that makes perfect sense
<jorendorff> and yet... eeeeeeeeeeeeeee
<fitzgen> indeed
<tromey> indeed

<shu`pto> hm
<shu`pto> the rubber casing on my mbp power cable has completely deteriorated near the connector
<shu`pto> and is exposing metal coil stuff
<shu`pto> how dangerous is this
<sfink> I would assume that's the ground wire?
<sfink> a simple test would be to lick it. But first you have to promise to report back here within 30 seconds, so we can properly interpret the lack of a response.
<shu`pto> hm
<shu`pto> perhaps i can find a squirrel
<sfink> no, don't lick a squirrel
<sfink> they can carry nasty diseases
<shu`pto> hm
<terrence> just tape it
<sfink> sugru is very useful for repairing those things fairly permanently, in the unlikely event you have any
<sfink> but if you *are* going to lick either the cable or the squirrel, I agree with terrence: please tape it

<Ms2ger> Now I want yield* in Python
<jorendorff> Ms2ger: that is a good idea
<jorendorff> Ms2ger: let me hop into my time machine real quick
* jorendorff disappears
* Ms2ger accidentally takes a sledgehammer to the time machine
<jorendorff> darn it!
<jorendorff> Ms2ger: thanks to your meddling i was only able to get it into Python 3.3
