<mbrubeck> If someone does a "git reflog expire" and then "git gc" on the server then they can be deleted.
* bsmedberg keeps reading that word as "re-flog" and getting confused
<ehsan> bsmedberg: ref-log :)
<ehsan> afaik you can't clean the reflog remotely
<bsmedberg> ok
<ehsan> which is a Feature :)
<bsmedberg> You know, if I keep hitting git over and over again, it will do what I want!
<bsmedberg> That's what reflogging is for.
<ehsan> true, git is very submissive :) -

<philor> nobody actually uses the trychooser hg extension, do they?
<philor> it asks you a trillion questions, though not all of the questions it thinks it will ask you, and then pushes to try for you, with even more out of date syntax than if you use the web page, something that takes a hundredth the time even if you load the web page over dialup, from Uzbekistan, via telnet, rendering it in your head
<philor> (and you're supposed to update it when you update the web page, which means I'm supposed to relearn how to use git, which isn't amusing me, in order to port my updates plus fix several updates and do quite a few updates that didn't get ported to it, no part of which is pleasing me) -

<jsocol> everyone hates on submodules, maybe I'm weird but I've never really had a problem with them
<jsocol> well, not since learning `git submodule sync`
<nigelb> jsocol: If there was one place listing all that could possibly happen and what to do in that cases, I'm ready to come to terms with it :)
<jsocol> nigelb: git help submodule?
<nigelb> jsocol: I'm looking for something more friendly. But hey, its git. Its too cool for even a bug tracker.
<jsocol> nigelb: THERE ARE NO BUGS ONLY THINGS LINUS HASN'T WRITTEN TREATISES ON YET
