<MindstormsKid> only 300ms more than the for(){} without let (a = a){}
<MindstormsKid> (1660ms for a 1mil-length array)
<zzxc> It shouldn't add overhead if the browser natively supports the behavior. (Of course it's slow on IE, but then again so is everything)

<jX> OMG FOXFIRE IS TEH INSECURE
<cesar> \o/
<johnath> (counterpoint - http://blog.mozilla.com/security/2008/12/15/the-importance-of-good-metrics/ )
<jX> DON'T CONFUSE THE ISSUE WITH FACTS.
<johnath> my bad
<biesi_> jX, how's that list sorted?
<jX> as far as I can tell, for maximum media impact.
<biesi_> heh
<biesi_> yeah :)
<mconnor> I'd like to thank the IE team for having a very distracting bug come out on the heels of that pickup ;)
<cesar> they give us more than just cake -

<Jesse> http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2008/08/25/ie8-and-privacy.aspx is scary
<jX> what's teh scary part, jesse?
<Jesse> jX: things like google maps inclusion breaking after you've visited 10 sites that use it
<gavin> why would that happen?
<shaver> gavin: because, when browsing InPrivate, it blocks 3rd party loads that have been sourced from 10 different sites
<shaver> "When you choose to browse with InPrivate, IE automatically blocks sites that have “seen” you across more than ten sites. "
<gavin> oh
<ss> Hmm, that's going to suck
<ss> A lot of my porn comes from the same server but is on multiple websites.
<shaver> you can just add pornobarn.com or whatever to the exceptions!
<ss> HotSue and HotBrandi use the same backend but different domains for the frontend.
<shaver> ...and then hope that nobody peeks at your exception list
<ss> Oh, yay!
<ss> Hm
<ss> Hey guys
<ss> Promise you won't peek, k?
<jX> swear to it.
<ss> ty! -

<Hixie> woah
<Hixie> i think i just found a semi-serious issue with the phishing protection in firefox
<Hixie> i went to a site that triggered the warning
<Hixie> and my immediate reaction (without really thinking) was "oh i wonder why that is blocked, let's have a look" and i immediately opened it _in IE_.
<Hixie> possibly the worst thing i could have done.
