<bsmedberg> * New special variable: .RECIPEPREFIX allows you to reset the recipe
<bsmedberg> introduction character from the default (TAB) to something else. The
<bsmedberg> first character of this variable value is the new recipe introduction
<bsmedberg> character. If the variable is set to the empty string, TAB is used again.
<bsmedberg> It can be set and reset at will; recipes will use the value active when
<bsmedberg> they were first parsed. To detect this feature check the value of $(.RECIPEPREFIX).
<bsmedberg> yum, variables that change parsing behavior
<shaver> wow.
<shaver> did they lose a bet with perl6? -

<jdm> smaug: I'm working on de-RPCing createWindow() for e10s
<jdm> smaug: and I want to notify the frameloader that's created that it shouldn't create a new tab because I will provide one
<jdm> but there's a lot of levels between TabParent::RecvCreateWindow and nsFrameLoader::TryNewProcess
<shaver> levels are how you know that you're doing REAL SOFTWARE
<shaver> if the data was just sitting where you needed it, ANYONE could write this stuff -

(Waldo is trying to get JS to cache the results of daylight savings time calculations.)
<Waldo> well, I see why webkit has complex cache logic, looks like most probes are for just slightly outside the range of previously seen offset computations, so the easy way will miss (but productively) every time
<shaver> is that because time progresses?
<Waldo> probably
<shaver> inconvenient
